Scott K. Thrift AIA

Founding SKT Architect in 2002, Scott has been a practicing architect since 1994. With a passion for design and problem solving. He enjoys all facets of the design profession from preliminary study through construction administration. His projects range from large new construction and land planning to small additions and renovations.

The main office is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but his work includes northern and southern California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Hawaii, Taiwan, Mainland China and a project in Lebanon.

Scott was born in Ankara, Turkey where his lifelong love of architectural history began. There are more Roman ruins in Turkey than Italy. Scott graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in architecture and architectural history.

His family arrived in San Francisco in 1850 as mining engineers and foundrymen. He has enjoyed researching that history and their contributions to the built environment of San Francisco, and Virginia City during the Gold Rush.

With a passion for architecture and history, he’s thrilled with pursuing any design opportunities that can bring a timeless yet appropriate vernacular to an architectural solution.
